Tattooing has been a Eurasian practice at least since Neolithic times. Ötzi the Iceman, dating from the 5th to 4th millennium BC, was found in the Ötz valley in the Alps and had some 57 carbon tattoos consisting of simple dots and lines on his lower spine, behind his left knee, and on his right ankle.

Amanda Wachob experienced her first tattooing in 1998. She was a photography graduates and had no idea with her newly got higher education tittle. One day her friend offered her to be an apprenticeship in a tattoo parlor, which was when she began to engage with tattoo’s world. She was conducted her apprenticeship in the Hudson Valley of New York.
Wachob’s works are mostly irregular and contemporary style with colorful and abstract shape. She doesn’t follow the traditional style that is still holding a strict habit that tattoo must contain certain meaning. Her works reflecting freedom taught and break the conventional tattoo boundaries such as usage of one color (mostly black), tribal form (commonly large-single size), and so on. Her tattoos are mostly scratching abstract blends that are usually appears on a canvass faced by painting artist. However, it seems she is trying to bring those canvass-based painting on human’s skin.
